A public meeting for residents of Pawnee and Pawnee School district will be held at 6 p.m. on October 12 in the High School gym. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss a potential annexation agreement with the developers of the natural gas power plant. The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency recently released the air permit for the power plant, so the Village officials have negotiated a hosting agreement with the developers of the plant, which will provide funds to Pawnee, the school district, the township and the fire protection district over the expected life of the power plant. The terms of the draft agreement will be available at the meeting, and an advisory vote will be available at the conclusion of the meeting.
