​The Village of Pawnee is a participant in the Sangamon County Multi-jurisdictional Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan Task Force. Information on this Plan, as well as the opportunity for public comment is available in the links below.

A public meeting for residents of Pawnee and Pawnee School district will be held at 6 p.m. on October 12 in the High School gym. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss a potential annexation agreement with the developers of the natural gas power plant. The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency recently released the air permit for the power plant, so the Village officials have negotiated a hosting agreement with the developers of the plant, which will provide funds to Pawnee, the school district, the township and the fire protection district over the expected life of the power plant. The terms of the draft agreement will be available at the meeting, and an advisory vote will be available at the conclusion of the meeting.

Initiated through funding by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, our connection to farmers is what makes our programs and services different.  We combine precision technology and data management with farm business and financials to help farmers manage, adopt, and adapt conservation practices long-term and improve on-farm decision-making. Our number one goal is to integrate conservation practices and financial data to help farmers understand how specific management changes can impact both their environmental impact and their bottom line.  We seek to enhance the effectiveness of conservation for the farm operation, while helping reduce complexity and manage the risks associated with practice adoption.
