Campo Realty started business on January 1, 2001, Nick Campo has almost two decades of service under his belt, so this Pawnee businessman can field just about any real estate need that comes his way. Campo Realty is located on the Pawnee Square at 610 South 6th Street, in the former Springer Insurance Office.
Serving the area surrounding Springfield. “Campo Realty encompasses Springfield and most of the surrounding area,” he shared.
Nick grew up in Springfield but has been a Pawnee resident for many years now. Campo Realty is a family business and Nick became interested in the real estate business from his mother. “My mom was a realtor. I started out part-time selling real estate while working in Kincaid at the power plant.”
As business took off, Nick decided to quit his job at the power plant and pursue real estate full time. Liking what he saw, his son Dominic went to Eastern, Illinois University and after graduation received his real estate license then joined the business in 2014. Today Campo Realty has grown large enough to include eleven real estate agents connected with the business.
Although he owns the business and has several agents working with him, Nick still is actively selling and working on a day to day basis.
What he loves about the real estate business he said is that every day is different. “Every transaction is a good challenge. No two are alike. Every day is a new experience, real estate is never boring.”
When asked how the business has changed over the years, he said the big difference is the technology. He said that to schedule a showing it used to take several phone calls while now, it is usually a person doing it all online. “Anymore, it is so automated.”
Even with technology the way it is today Nick says it is still best to have an agent working for you “It is statistically proven that an agent will bring more money for you than selling a home on your own. You get better representation.”
When asked if he had any advice for those preparing to buy or sell, Nick said, “If you are a buyer getting ready to buy a property, get preapproved before starting your search. Find an agent that you like and work with one agent.”
As for a person looking to sell, he also had some advice as well. “If you are a seller, clean, clean, clean! Also, depersonalize the space. Get an inspection and fix anything that is broken. That first impression means a lot.”
Campo Realty has received many accolades over the years. “We were highlighted in the Springfield Business Journal as one of five under 15 employees in 2012,” Nick said.
The large plaque hangs in his office showing this coveted award. Part of the reason for this great success is staff loyalty with office manager Leslie Fisher who has been on board for the last ten years.
Nick believes in being active in the local realtor community and he just finished up serving as the President of the Capital area Realtors Association.
Working with the local realtors and being active with his community and family are just part of the reasons that Campo Realty has proven to be a successful business. On their website they have a search tool that assigns criteria to help find properties that match your search that will take into considerations the amenities you are looking for like lot size, style of home etc.
Their motto on their website at www.camporealty.com is “Find Your Dream Home or the Perfect Commercial Site”. Helping you find just what you are looking for is what they hope to accomplish for the clients that reach out to them by phone, email or that walk through their door.
Not only do their agents try to help find the right property that a client is searching for, they also try to determine an accurate price analysis and to determine a fair listing price based on market conditions.
If you are looking for realtor services, call Campo Realty at 217-625-4663 with questions. Walk- ins are welcome as well
